Job Title: Adolescent Registered Nurse (RN) - Part-Time (15-20 hours/week)
Reports To: Adolescent Program Manager
Shift: Monday-Friday 10-1pm CST (at 15 hours)
Compensation: $36-41/hour

POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Northpoint team, the Adolescent Registered Nurse (RN) will provide and oversee the medical services provided to adolescent clients in our care. This licensed nursing professional will act as the medical treatment plan coordinator for the multi-disciplinary team in the development and implementation of the master treatment plan and the discharge plan for each client. This person will actively communicate with support staff, treatment teams, providers, and outside agencies on treatment and safety issues pertaining to clients and their family members. The Registered Nurse (RN) will perform nursing care activities according to established client care protocols, standards, and procedures, and will complete all documentation associated with these duties in a professional and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Interact routinely with clients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to multidisciplinary team as necessary
- Administer medications to clients, including injections as ordered, and engage in education process
- Order client medications through client’s preferred pharmacy; track and process medication refills
- Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team in the development of treatment plans, nursing care plans, and discharge planning to strive for excellent client care
- Assist clinical team with admissions and discharges of clients
- Obtain vital signs, monitor symptoms and document in the client record
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and scope of licensure
- Monitor clients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate medical treatment and interventions
- Document in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality client care
- Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain effective working relationships with employees and peers
- Maintain clinic structure of medical and psychiatric provider schedule
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients at all times
- Utilize de-escalation skills when exposed to volatile clients to maintain personal safety for the client and other individuals in our care
- Oversee and participate in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility
- Provide medical updates to utilization review and representatives of managed care to best coordinate reimbursement of treatment services
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
- Other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state where services are rendered
- Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements throughout duration of employment
- Knowledge of computer and electronic medical records systems (KIPU)
- Enthusiasm, passion for working with people, and an internal drive to improve the lives of individuals in our care
- We love new grads! However, two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse with one (1) year adolescent experience is preferred
- Ability to work with a diverse population along with interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating adolescent clients in our care
- Demonstrated ability to hold strong personal boundaries and ability to build rapport with clients
- Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in the state where treatment services are rendered
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Must maintain current nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Completion of a tuberculin screening during first week of employment
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screening, post-accident and upon reasonable suspicion of use
- Completion of CPR/First Aid Training within first 90 days of employment
- Completion of background and professional reference checks
- Completion of a Motor Vehicle Record check
